Night at the Pond with Presley 8/29/19 Presley the Beagle and I went for a walk around the pond and I worked on a bit of night time photography. Still a lot to learn about it without using a flash but we did enjoy a cool breeze. I'll probably try my Lume Cube next time for lighting purposes since my 6D Mark II doesn't have a flash and the external flash I purchased with it (which was supposed to work) is incompatible. The camera has worked really well in low light situations, like dance floor lighting and such, I've been really impressed.I used the 50mm lens tonight and I've been trying to rely on it most of the time. Duck Pond with Presley 8/28/19 Went walking this afternoon and again this evening with Presley the Beagle and my Canon 6D Mark II with my 300mm and 50mm lenses to get some photos of ducks and other wildlife. Video footage of Presley walking as well! I had lots of photos from a Quinceanera to edit so I haven't been able to get back to nature and into my scenic mode for a bit, but I'm finally gravitating back to my roots. Dr. Pepper Product Photography Took some time with my 6D Mark II and the 50mm lens to grab some photos of this very nice set of Dr. Pepper 4 packs for $2.50 each. Real Sugar, none of that High Fructose Corn Syrup aka Cancer Sauce. Anyway, I loved the really soft/warm lighting I used and it was a good chance to practice some bokeh and trying to make sure everything that needed to be in focus was in focus. I did this in a bit of a rush but I'm still pleased with some of the results. Critiques are always welcome. Also for those of you anxious to see photos with the 85mm Telephoto from Lightdow. I haven't really captured a single good photo I'm pleased with. I have a lot to learn with this lens and every photo is either out of focus (due to there not being a focus ring, just aperture adjustments done manually) or washed out because of white balance. For now, it's definitely not as versatile as almost all the other lenses I have. I'll see what I can get going soon thou...

The Mighty Ducks I spent Independence day at a duck pond. Saw a few different kinds of ducks and birds and turtles. Today I had the Canon 6D Mark II with my 75-300mm lens. I had a fun time experimenting with some of the settings and trying to learn the new layout of the camera as everything seems very different, but probably in a good way. The LCD screen was too dull and I hadn't sorted that out so I couldn't see whether the shots I was taking were too bright or too dark. Anyway, thankfully I learned a lot today and I might have to go back sometime with my tripod and more knowledge of my camera settings.  I feel like he just told a joke, and he's waiting for a reaction. Presley 6/20-24/19 I know we're all clamoring for photos taken with my shiny new 6D Mark II, but out walking with Presley it's easier to carry my Rebel T5. Some good shots were taken and I had a fun time doing very minimal editing here as the lighting was kind and even in motion, the first photo didn't end up blurred beyond repair as most walking photos of Presley end up being unusable.  Walking on 6/20/19 The cutest face in the world. Sleepy Sunday 6-2-19 Spent this last Sunday relaxing with Presley and caught a photo of a few snails sauntering around after the rain. Was quite nice.
