Flying to DC (7-15-18)

I have to say it’s been about 10 or 12 years since I’ve been on a vacation. Gone somewhere with the full intention of doing nothing but enjoying myself, exploring, and taking time to disconnect from the struggles of the daily grind and reconnect with the simple things that make life worth living.
It was Saturday July 14th when I boarded a plane from Lubbock to Austin. 3 hours of delays later I’m floating in the skies on the way to my nations capital.
A reverent place in the history of our nation, a breath of fresh air from Texan architecture, and an experience I hope to never forget. This place feels different as I reflect on the trying times our nation is in. I don’t really respect the man holding our nations highest office and that’s a strange thing to say but he’s earned it through his horrifying actions. Luck would have it that we’re both away from our houses so maybe I can focus on the legacy of this town and look at this place separate from its politics.
I’ll have a few days to explore and take tours, taste a variety of foods, get a chance to flex my photography in a new way.
Here’s a few snaps from my first day traveling, I got into DC around 7:30pm ET and the hour of time lost in the time zone gap doesn’t feel so bad. I’ll be up early for the first tour tomorrow.
I hope you enjoy.

Thanks,

Aaron
